First stage Caravan 2010: Kristalopigi - Gianitsa
We have walked the first part of this year's trail in Northern Greece during the first 2 weeks of May with a mixed Croatian-Dutch group of about 10 persons with Greek guides and partly mules, partly horses. The Croatian students made the caravan a project for their anthropology study, for which they acquired a subsidy from their university. They filmed to make a documentary, made notes of interesting phenomena along the road and held interviews with local people. Lots of material, enough to give lectures later on to their fellow students. We made lots of friends, had very welcome support and help from local authorities and others, radio and tv coverage and we extended our Egnatia painting to about 20 meters now, thanks to creative children along the road. By the time we arrive in Instanbul after the second stage (18th June - 10th July; you can still join us) we should have 40 meters to exhibit.
