Joining the caravan in 2010
In 2010 we will organize the next stage in Greece and Turkey to arrive in Istanbul, which is then cultural capital of Europe.
We have divided the Caravan walk in two parts: one in May in North-Western Greece, and one in June-July in North-Eastern Greece and Turkey (Thrace). Because the road is very long, we will for now skip the most difficult/uninteresting parts and do them by bus. So the walking will be alternated with busdrives, especially in the Thracean part.
The first part in May in Western Greece has two starting points, because we want to include some sidedetracks of the Via Egnatia: the main group will start in Kristallopigi, near the Albanian border in Greece. The other group will come from FYROM-Macedonia - as we did last year - and cross the border at Niki. These two groups will meet in Florina.

Participation is in principle on a weekly basis (i.e. one or more weeks). You can join at the beginning of each part as mentioned above. Other meeting places are indicated in bold. Note on the detailed schedule that in Florina and Alexandroupoli we arrive on Friday and leave on Sunday.
Costs:
Accomodation (hotels, campings, etc.) and food are at the expense of the participants.
Contribution of participants from non-EU Balkan countries €10 per day.
Contribution of all others €200 per week.
Students and other low-income participants can apply for a lower contribution.
Subscription is now open. If you fill in the FORM you will receive confirmation of your subscription within a week. If not, please contact the webmaster directly.
We have to limit the number of participants and we aim at a multinational group. So, confirmation of your participation will be send later. Your participation will be finalized only after we receive your contribution in the costs (see the guidelines).
