Company or lift

Hi, I am Jochen from Germany and I will walk the VE a second time. I am mainly interested in the opinions, situation and culture of the people along the road. My Albanian translator has a car (we could give everybody a lift if wanted). If somebody likes to walk a part of VE with me and my albanian translator - s/he is welcome. My german phone number 00491751636693 is active in Albania too, just give me a call or a whatsapp/sms in Germany or Albania or This email address is being protected from spambots. April/May 2019 from Durrës

Hello, I am planning on walking the via egnatia from Durres to Thessalonika in April/May 2019 and would enjoy the company of another walker/walkers at any stage of the journey. This will be my first walk of more than a week, so it is a little daunting!
I am a 57 year old retired ancient history teacher from Australia who has travelled and walked extensively. Having lived in Egypt for three years during the post revolutionary period, I think I am pretty resourceful and resilient traveller, who has a lot of curiosity.

Via Egnatia

Hi, I am Olimpia Piccardo and I am interested in learning more about the Via Egnatia and if possible would like to have the experience some time soon. I completed the Camino de Santiago Frances in 2014 and the Camino de la Costa in May this year (2017).  I am single, retired, 65, in very good health, live in Texas, fluent in Spanish and English and love nature and long distance walks. I would appreciate the information. Thanks. This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Hi, I am Jochen from Germany and I will start walking VE in Elbasan at the 7.8.17. My Albanian translator has a car  (we could give everybody a lift if wanted) and I use the locus-gps-app for walking.  I would like to share experiences about the walking with gps-apps and about the area of Elbasan, especially about places to sleep. If somebody likes to walk a part of VE with me and my albanian translator - s/he is welcome. erikaMirake - Bitola, from 2nd week of August 2017

Hi, I'm Erika from Germany and I would like to do a part of VE in August, if it's not to hot.
I have a flight to Tirana on August 8th and my idea is to start VE in the region of Mirake, going to Bitola, Northern Macedonia. I don't want to carry too much stuff, so I'll be travelling without tent, hoping to find rooms in private houses or hotels. As I have been travelling to Albania several times, I speak a bit of Albanian. I'm used to travel on my own, but if somebody would like to join me on my trip or if you can give me some advice or tell me your experiences, I'll be glad. (I did 2 parts around Elbasan in January and I have a GPS with VE.). This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Departing from Durrës, beginning of April, 2017

walterMy Fellow Adventurers - masculini / feminae

April 2nd - July 2nd, 2017; Dyrrachium to Constantinople

Do you want to join me for this walk in the ruins? We could hike a bit together, arrange to meet up for a chat along the way, be somewhere at the same time or some such thing.

A few years ago I enjoyed the 800 km Pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain - I loved the simplicity, the history, the freedom, the outdoors, nature in all its aspects and the atmospherics. Not to mention the food & drink. I know we will find the same experience here.

I am a 67 year old male from Canada; I have a love of Mother Nature, enjoy being far from the Madding crowd, have a mythological/spiritual bent, an interest in archaeology and still enjoy the local wines!

I will land in Tirana April 2nd, 2017 and will be in Greece & the Balkans until the end of July. Hope to hear from you. Contact: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
